Training will cover Mary Health’s systems and procedures; you should bring a foundation in payroll processing, comfort with payroll software and timekeeping systems, and a keen eye for detail to protect confidential information.

Qualifications

• Hands-on payroll experience and payroll calculations knowledge.
• Understanding of California payroll requirements including overtime/double time.
• Ability to review reports, identify discrepancies, and verify accuracy.
• Comfort with payroll software, timekeeping systems, email, and basic Excel functions.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines.
• Professional communication and discretion with confidential information.
• Willingness to ask questions, take feedback, and apply training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process biweekly payroll accurately and on time.
• Review timecards for missing punches, incomplete hours, discrepancies, and approvals.
• Verify regular hours, overtime, double time, night-shift hours, holiday pay, PTO, and pay differentials.
• Confirm all employees due to be paid are included and hours transfer correctly from timekeeping to payroll.
• Review payroll reports before submission, identify errors, and correct as needed.
• Process authorized payroll changes and deductions, maintaining supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with department supervisors to resolve timecard questions promptly.
• Respond professionally to employee payroll questions and follow through on corrections.
• Maintain organized, confidential payroll records and assist with payroll reports and audits.
• Communicate with payroll and timekeeping vendors to resolve processing issues.
