Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead payroll processing, timekeeping, and compliance across the organization. You will supervise payroll staff, coordinate audits, and partner with Finance, HR, Benefits, IT, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll services.

The role requires implementing improvements, resolving complex payroll questions, and maintaining confidentiality while aligning with Mary Free Bed’s values and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
• Five or more years of progressive payroll experience, including processing, tax, reconciliations, and timekeeping.
• Prior supervisory or management experience leading payroll staff.
• Experience with Workday, ADP, or similar payroll/time management systems preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or related designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees biweekly and monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Leads timekeeping, reconciliations, and payroll tax reporting activities.
• Provides leadership and guidance to payroll staff and managers.
• Ensures payroll records are accurate, secure, and confidential.
• Coordinates responses to internal/external audits and improves processes.
