Job summary

MBP is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector I to support field compliance, QA, and documentation on active projects across Virginia. You will act as MBP's representative on sites, coordinating with agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders to keep work on track and well-documented.

The role requires progressive inspection experience, the ability to obtain certifications within 18 months, and strong communication as you help prepare pay applications and project reports while

Qualifications

• Must have progressive field inspection experience across transportation and building projects.
• Ability to obtain required certification within 18 months of hire.
• Willingness to take online and in-person certification courses and pass exams.
• Experience interacting with agencies, contractors, and clients on site.

Responsibilities

• Serve as MBP representative on active construction sites and verify conformance with specs and codes.
• Coordinate with agency personnel, contractors, and MBP team members to address discrepancies.
• Document project activities and field issues affecting schedule, budget, and compliance.
• Assist in development of pay applications and project reports; maintain daily records.
• Perform basic surveying and take measurements for line, grade, and dimensions.
• Prepare punch lists and ensure contractor completion of items.
