Job summary

MBP is seeking a Construction Inspector I to support field compliance, quality assurance, and documentation on active construction projects in the Roanoke area. You will represent MBP with contractors, agencies, and stakeholders while ensuring conformance to plans and codes.

Ideal candidates have progressive inspection experience, are able to take on increasing responsibilities, and can coordinate with teams to address discrepancies, assist with pay applications, and maintain detailed project

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent construction experience.
• Working mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Construction-related training and experience demonstrating ability to perform duties.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, internet navigation, web-based tools, and specialized equipment.
• Experience with MBP construction management systems such as AWP, SiteManager, HICAM, or MBP’s OnTrack system, or ability to learn within one month of hire.
• Read and interpret construction plans and contract specifications for assigned inspection work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect on-site compliance, QA, and progress monitoring for conformance to specifications and codes.
• Review payment applications with guidance from senior team members.
• Prepare daily reports, punch lists, and project diaries; maintain project records and correspondence.
• Maintain project records including daily diaries, photos, and inspection reports; perform algebraic computations as needed.
• Track submittals and RFIs and communicate with contractors and MBP personnel.
• Perform administrative duties and assist in budget and schedule monitoring.
