MBP is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector I to support field compliance, quality assurance, and documentation on active US road and bridge projects. The role spans multiple Virginia sites and requires working with contractors, agencies, and MBP staff to ensure workmanship meets specifications and deadlines.

Ideal candidates will grow in responsibility, obtain required certifications within 18 months, and maintain thorough project records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent construction experience.
• Basic math including algebra, geometry, trig with field measurements.
• Construction-related training and experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and field reporting systems.
• Ability to learn MBP systems within one month.
• Familiarity with inspection materials and field practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect active construction sites for conformance to plans and codes.
• Coordinate with agencies, contractors, and MBP team members to address discrepancies.
• Document project activities, field issues, and progress to meet schedules and budgets.
• Review pay applications and assist in project reporting and cost tracking.
• Maintain project records, diaries, photos, and inspection reports.
• Perform field checks, take measurements, and verify line, grade, and dimensions.
• Prepare daily reports and monthly estimates; track submittals and RFIs.
• Assist with certifications and trainings as needed.
