Job summary

Global Medical Response in Pompano Beach, FL is seeking a Revenue Cycle Transport Authorization Specialist to manage authorizations for non-emergency transports. You will coordinate with Communications, Operations, payors and billing to ensure required paperwork is obtained around the transport time.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of full‑cycle medical billing experience, plus basic computer skills and knowledge of HIPAA and insurance guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in full-cycle medical billing
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines is beneficial
• HIPAA and related regulations understanding within one month of hire date
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and basic hardware/software concepts
• Previous customer service experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with Communications to provide guidance on non-emergency transports and required paperwork and/or authorizations.
• Review non-emergency transports to identify payor and determine if an authorization is required.
• Follow established processes to request and/or obtain authorizations for non-emergency transports.
• Work with Communications to ensure adequate and appropriate levels of service are dispatched for non-emergency transports.
• Manage Authorization work bin to ensure payor requirements are met.
• Process customer complaints quickly by receiving, investigating, redirecting or resolving the issue.
• Develop and sustain relationships with AMR professionals, clients, payors, consultants, banks and government agencies.
