Job summary

American Medical Response in Pompano Beach, FL is seeking a Revenue Cycle Transport Authorization Specialist to manage authorizations for non-emergency transports on site.

You will collaborate with Communications, Operations and payors to identify required paperwork, review cases, and obtain timely approvals while ensuring accurate billing inputs.

The role requires at least one year in medical billing and strong knowledge of HIPAA; EMT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• EMT certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in full-cycle medical billing.

Responsibilities

• Work with Communications to provide guidance on non-emergency transports and required paperwork and/or authorizations.
• Review non-emergency transports to identify appropriate payor and determine if an authorization is required.
• Follow established processes to request and/or obtain authorizations for non-emergency transports.
• Work with Communications to ensure adequate and appropriate levels of service are dispatched for non-emergency transports.
• Manage Authorization work bin to ensure payor requirements are met.
• Process customer complaints quickly by receiving, investigating, redirecting or, resolving the issue.
• Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with AMR professionals and with clients, payors, consultants, banks and government agencies.
