Job summary

Amentum has proudly supported our customer in Dahlgren, Virginia, for more than 60 years, and we’re looking for Software Engineers to join our growing team. This is an on-site position in Dahlgren, VA, supporting cutting-edge Naval programs, including the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) weapon system.

We seek professionals with expertise in SQL database development and experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 0–10 years of experience in software or database development.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive on and off base.
• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement database solutions using SQL for Naval projects.
• Demonstrate proficiency in one or more programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python).
• Support senior developers in the SDLC including design, integration, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions.
• Apply Agile development principles to meet changing project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
