Amentum seeks software engineering professionals for on-site work in Dahlgren, VA, supporting naval projects and the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile weapon system. You will join a growing systems and software team and contribute across multiple contracts within our Software Center of Excellence.

The role involves hands-on development in C, C++, Java, or Python, agile processes, and collaboration with customers and engineers to deliver solutions. A U.S.

Qualifications

• 0–10 years of experience in software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Agile Development.
• Excellent communication skills; able to interact with customers and engineers.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Must have a valid REAL ID driver’s license and reliable transportation; occasional travel between local sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development and integration using C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Support Naval projects and SLBM weapon system development.
• Work with a Senior Amentum developer following Agile practices.
• Analyze problems and provide engineering solutions.
• Collaborate within teams to meet schedule-driven goals.
