Job summary

Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals to support Naval projects in Dahlgren, VA. This on-site role focuses on C/C++ development within SLBM weapon system projects, Agile, and DevSecOps practices.

You will join a growing software team, collaborate with industry and government members, and contribute to modernizing Navy capabilities while pursuing continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 1-10 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Agile Development.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and engineering personnel at all levels.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance required.
• Valid REAL ID driver's license and reliable transportation; travel to local sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support Naval projects by conducting software development within the SLBM weapon system.
• Primarily support a Senior Amentum developer in development using Agile principles.
• Demonstrate expertise in software requirements, architecture, and testing.
• Support modern weapon system software development, testing, and deployment processes.
• Utilize C, C++, Git, Jira, and static code analysis tools in development activities.
• Apply modern software development practices, including Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps.
• Work effectively on a cross-functional team with industry and government members.
• Work independently and with others to meet goals and program schedules.
• Perform analysis and problem solving in professional science/engineering work.
• Identify and pursue professional development to align with mission and objectives.
