Job summary

Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals to support Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia, focusing on software development and integration for DoD weapons and sensor systems. This on-site position joins our growing Systems and Software Engineering team and contributes to multiple contracts within our Software Center of Excellence.

You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with a Senior Amentum developer, and be responsible for software development and problem solving

Qualifications

• 0–10 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Agile Development.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with customers and engineers.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship required to maintain it.
• Valid REAL ID driver’s license and reliable transportation; occasional travel to local sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development and integration in C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Support Naval projects and programs within the SLBM weapon system context.
• Work with a Senior developer following Agile development principles.
• Analyze problems and contribute to professional scientific and engineering work.
• Collaborate within teams and across organizations to meet goals on schedule.
