Job summary

Amentum is seeking Software Engineers for an on-site role in Dahlgren, VA, to support naval programs and modernize critical weapon and sensor systems. You will work within our Software Center of Excellence on SQL/database development and in one or more of C, C++, Python, or Java, collaborating with senior engineers and customers.

Ideal candidates bring problem-solving skills, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and in teams to deliver mission-critical software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another applicable technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive on and off base.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement database solutions using SQL to support Naval projects.
• Demonstrate proficiency in one or more programming languages, specifically C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Support senior developers in the SDLC, including design, integration, implementation, and maintenance.
• Apply Agile development principles to ensure flexibility and adaptability in meeting project requirements.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver high-quality, mission-critical software solutions.
