Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to support the project team in creating an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC). The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and contributes to developing and maintaining a robust Safety Roadmap.

Reports to Area Safety leadership and will coordinate with the Project Team. The candidate will conduct field safety walks, assist with corrective actions, and provide coaching to promote safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Understanding of electrical industry standards such as NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI.
• 0-2 years of construction safety experience; electrical safety experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification required; CPR/FA certification preferred; STS/STSC certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating safety program effectiveness through daily field walks and logging observations.
• Support project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues.
• Provide feedback to Safety leadership on safety improvements and recognition.
• Coach employees on safe behaviors and recognize safe performance.
• Assist with job site safety orientations for new employees, as applicable.
• Assist with basic safety training (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag-out, etc.).
• Support investigations of incidents and injuries and assist in their resolution.
• Raise potential compliance risks to Safety leadership.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and ensure attendance and engagement by crews.
