Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist - Energy to support project teams in cultivating an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC).

The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and helps develop the Project Safety Roadmap under supervision of the Project Safety Manager or Area Safety Manager. The position involves field walks, safety coaching, coordinating safety orientations, and assisting with incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Education and licensing requirements as listed in the job description.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification is required.
• CPR/FA certification required or trainer preferred; STS/STSC certifications preferred.
• Bi-lingual skills are a plus for the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation of safety programs through field walks and log observations.
• Support project-specific corrective action plans for safety issues.
• Provide feedback to Safety leadership on safety improvements and recognition.
• Coach employees on safe behaviors and acknowledge safe practices.
• Assist with site orientations for new employees and basic safety training (HazCom, Fall Protection, LOTO).
• Support incident investigations and injury/illness case facilitation.
• Raise potential compliance risks to Safety leadership.
• Attend daily safety meetings and evaluate participation and adherence to program elements.
