Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector to join our on-site field team across multiple project locations within our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. This role emphasizes hands-on inspection of traffic control, earthwork, soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, with a focus on safety and quality on highway projects.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent, 2 years of related experience, and relevant certifications such as ACI or NICET where required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ACI or NICET certifications if required by client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Determine the acceptability of day-to-day work by the contractor and review daily reports for conformance with QC plans.
• Review material testing procedures and results and may perform sampling and in-place testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
