Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an inspector to perform basic to high complexity inspections of transportation infrastructure in the United States. The role includes reviewing drawings, plans, and specifications, and communicating results to the project supervisor.

Travel is substantial, with duties spanning roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion control, and maintenance/traffic. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications (ACI/NICET) when required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic arithmetic and ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings, and understand contract provisions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic to high complexity inspections of transportation infrastructure.
• Use industry gauges and calculations for inspections.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings to the project supervisor.
• Plan and assign inspection tasks for other inspectors on the project.
• Perform field measurements to establish pay quantities and contract records.
