Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team. The role involves inspecting highway construction work at various project locations, under direct supervision, and ensuring conformance with plans, specs, and QC procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or ACI/NICET if required by client/jurisdiction.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required with travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Review contractor daily reports and approve/reject work per QC Plan.
• May sample and test soil, aggregate, concrete and asphalt per contract.
