Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office PST. You will collect specimens, explain procedures to patients, and ensure accuracy in data entry and requisitions.

The role requires adherence to safety, privacy, and lab procedures, with on-site work at our Georgia location. Responsibilities include greeting customers, obtaining necessary information, preparing and labeling specimens, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures and explains the venipuncture process to patients.
• Disposes of blood or biohazard fluids in accordance with laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions in PathConnect and/or other PathGroup applications.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer with high accuracy.
• Matches requisition forms to specimen tubes and handles labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains specimen integrity during handling and transport.
• Maintains records/logs and assists with monthly statistics and data.
