UI Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Office Assistant in Patient Logistics to handle hospital reception, patient check-in, and insurance verification. The role includes data entry into the EHR, patient payments processing, and maintaining a compliant front-desk workflow. Training as a Super User for EHR is included.

Two on-site positions with rotating schedule and a 1.0 FTE. Minimum qualification is a high school diploma. Illinois residency required within 180 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Performs hospital reception duties, including the greeting and proper identification of patients.
• Checks in patients; collects patient identification and insurance cards.
• Verifies/updates patient’s demographic and insurance information
• Receives and Processes Patient Payments for Medical Services
• Completes patient forms for signature (HealthCare Consent form, verification form and financial forms)
• Performs data entry of patient demographic and insurance information into the electronic health record (EHR) ensuring accuracy of data entered.
• Operates office equipment such as copiers, fax machines and scanners.
• Communicates routine information to the patient
• Complete Electronic Health Record Super User Training
• Complete/update registration errors in the Electronic Health Record – Patient Level, Claim Edit and Charge Review Work Queues
• Act as a Resource and knowledge share to new hires
• Maintains clean office space and waiting room area conditions to meet IDPH work environment standards.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
