Job summary

System One is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for an on-site role in Chattanooga, TN. The inspector will perform dimensional and visual inspections throughout the production cycle, applying GD&T and using CMMs to verify conformance on nuclear, DoE, DoD, and AS9100/ISO9001 projects.

The role emphasizes accuracy, traceability, and effective communication with machinists and production staff, with potential sign-on bonuses for the right candidate and relocation considered.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control inspection activities utilizing Faro Arm CMM and/or Keyence Optical CMM.
• Knowledge of NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ANSI N45.2, and ASME BPVC Section III and VIII quality requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly communicate quality and technical requirements.
• Flexible hours to meet emergent customer needs.
• Must be able to use vernier style gauges and pass an inspection knowledge assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment and CMMs to verify product conformance.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts for inspection activities.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain traceability.
• Program and operate Zeiss CMM (Calypso), Keyence Optical CMM, Keyence Wide Area CMM and/or Faro arm for complex verification.
• Verify incoming materials and in-process products against purchase specifications.
• Witness and hold points as identified in work travelers and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Interface with customers and production on inspection results and quality-related matters.
• Maintain familiarity with measurement technology and evolving software updates.
