Job summary

General Matter is building a domestic uranium enrichment capability and seeking an experienced CMM Inspector to own dimensional inspection across tubes, weldments, and machined parts. You will run portable-arm and fixed CMM measurements, interpret GD&T from drawings, and qualify parts through first-article inspection, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and on-time delivery.

The role scales production capabilities; you will contribute to inspection standards, fixture design, and process

Qualifications

• 7+ years in dimensional inspection, metrology, or related quality engineering.
• Hands-on portable-arm experience (Hexagon Absolute Arm) with accurate technique.
• GD&T fluency read from drawings (datums, profile, position, cylindricity).
• Proficiency with CMM inspection software (PC-DMIS and/or PolyWorks).
• Experience inspecting tubes, weldments, and machined parts with straightness, roundness, weld distortion, and fixture repeatability.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspection of tubes, weldments, and machined parts using portable-arm or fixed CMM, tactile probing or scanning.
• Interpret GD&T from drawings and identify critical features.
• Develop and maintain reusable inspection programs and methods to scale throughput.
• Design fixtures and manage part temperature to ensure measurement accuracy and repeatability.
• Prepare First Article Inspection records and audit-ready documentation; write NCRs and support root-cause analysis.
