Job summary

APIC Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and direct payroll operations across multiple states and entities from an on-site location in Albuquerque.

This strategic leadership role owns payroll strategy, process management, and team development, with exposure to senior leadership and business impact. You will oversee end-to-end multi-state processing, ensure compliance, drive improvements, and report to finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of supervising payroll.
• CPP certification preferred.
• Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage regulations.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume, multi-state payrolls.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax rules, wage-hour laws, garnishments, and compliance.
• Advanced Excel and payroll systems experience.
• Excellent communication and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct end-to-end weekly multi-state payroll processing.
• Supervise, coach, and develop payroll team; hire, train, and optimize performance.
• Manage certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance across projects.
• Own payroll data review, resolve complex tax issues, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Establish payroll controls, reconciliations, and reporting; drive process improvements.
• Prepare payroll reports for finance, HR, and executives.
• Partner with Controller on payroll strategy and system enhancements.
