Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is hiring a Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. The role ensures timely, accurate pay and full regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local laws.

You will supervise payroll staff or vendors, collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT, and maintain payroll integrity. A CPP or similar certification is preferred with strong communication skills and a focus on accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, incl. multi-state, with at least 2 years in management.
• Experience leading payroll operations or supervising staff.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax and wage-and-hour regulations.
• Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms; UKG Pro and SuccessFactors preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification preferred.
• Strong written communication for drafting payroll notices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing biweekly and monthly, including off-cycle as applicable.
• Ensure accurate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and garnishments.
• Maintain payroll calendars, cut-off dates, approvals, and reconciliations.
• Review and validate payroll data prior to final submission.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly.
• Manage high-volume payroll for 2,000+ employees across multiple states.
