Job summary

APIC Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and direct payroll operations across multiple states and entities from an on-site location in Albuquerque.

This strategic leadership role owns payroll strategy, process management, and team development, with exposure to senior leadership and business impact. You will oversee end-to-end multi-state processing, ensure compliance, drive improvements, and report to finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of supervising payroll.
• CPP certification preferred.
• Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage regulations.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume, multi-state payrolls.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax rules, wage-hour laws, garnishments, and compliance.
• Advanced Excel and payroll systems experience.
• Excellent communication and discretion with confidential information.

APIC Solutions is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to "lead and direct" payroll operations across multiple states and entities.

This position is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid options

In this strategic leadership role, you\'ll take full ownership of payroll strategy, process management, and team development. You\'ll oversee end-to-end multi-state payroll processing, manage certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance, drive process improvements, and supervise a talented payroll team. As Payroll Manager, you\'ll be a key business partner to HR, Finance, and Operations with meaningful exposure to senior leadership and direct impact on organizational success.

What You\'ll Do:

• Lead and direct end-to-end weekly multi-state payroll processing with full accountability for accuracy and compliance
• Supervise, coach, and develop payroll team members; hire, train, and optimize team performance
• Manage certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance across all applicable projects
• Own payroll data review, resolve complex tax issues, and ensure federal, state, and local regulatory compliance
• Establish and maintain payroll controls, reconciliations, and reporting—driving continuous process improvement
• Prepare comprehensive payroll reports for finance, HR, and executive stakeholders
• Partner with the Controller on payroll strategy, policy updates, and system enhancements

What We\'re Looking For:

Required:

• Minimum 5+ years of supervising payroll
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience managing payroll personnel
• Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience
• Demonstrated expertise processing high-volume, multi-state payroll
• Deep knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour requirements, garnishments, and compliance
• Strong experience with payroll controls, reconciliations, reporting, and process improvement
• Advanced Excel proficiency and understanding of automated payroll systems
• Excellent communication skills with ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred:

• Construction industry experience
• Spectrum ERP/Payroll experience
• Multi-entity payroll operations background
• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin, or related field
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
