Job summary

IMIA, LLC is seeking a Payroll Manager to own the end-to-end payroll process for a multi-state workforce. You’ll handle weekly payroll, tax compliance, and year-end filings, serving as the subject matter expert on payroll laws to ensure accurate, compliant operations.

You will report to the Controller in an in-person role; location options include Spanish Fort, AL or Portsmouth, VA. Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience required; CPP preferred. Health, 401k, and other benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of payroll processing experience with multi-state exposure.
• CPP certification preferred; supervisory or management experience an asset.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes, compliance, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll for a multi-state workforce, including weekly processing.
• Ensure tax compliance, reconciliations, and timely year-end filings.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and respond to payroll inquiries.
• Lead audits and implement updates to payroll systems and processes.
• Stay current with state payroll laws and changes.
