Job summary

City Wide is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll for multiple states and entities. You will ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and manage vendor relationships while mentoring a payroll team.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years in multi-state payroll, and proficiency with ADP/Paycom. A CPP is highly desirable, with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• CPP certification is highly desirable.
• 5+ years of payroll management in a multi-state, multi-company setting.
• Experience with payroll regulations, tax compliance and employment laws across states.
• Union payroll experience.
• Proficient in payroll software (ADP, Paycom, etc.).
• Experience coordinating with a third-party payroll provider for escalations, system config, and vendor matters.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll for City Wide across multiple states and entities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
• Supervise Payroll Specialist and provide mentoring.
• Administer and reconcile 401(k) contributions and levied audits.
• Manage payroll systems (ADP) and implement upgrades as needed.
• Process changes: hires, terminations, garnishments, salary adjustments.
• Handle year-end tasks: W-2s, tax filings and reporting.
• Serve as primary contact for payroll inquiries and cross-functional teams.
