Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician in Knoxville, TN. You will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs for trucks and trailers in a mobile/field setting.

The role requires HS Diploma or GED with 3+ years in related field (or 5+ years experience). ASE T8 within 18 months is preferred; DOT background check and medical card compliance are required. Safety and quality standards are emphasized.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field.
• ASE certification T8 within 18 months of hire.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background check and DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light/medium/heavy vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engines, transmissions, and related truck systems.
• Inspect trailers and equipment, diagnose faults, and perform repairs as needed.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain service truck and tools, manage parts and RO documentation.
