Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. The role requires safe driving, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work with customers on-site.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical/diesel systems, managing parts, and documenting RO via TRAIT app. Flexible remote option; hours 10:00–18:30, Tue–Sat; travel 100% within the region.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required with 3 years in a related field or equivalent experience
• ASE/T8 certification within 18 months; FMCSA/DOT regulatory awareness
• Valid state driver’s license; clean MVR and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings
• Diagnose, repair, and service electrical, diesel, and trailer systems
• Manage parts on a service truck and document RO using TRAIT app on iOS
• Ensure safety compliance and communicate estimates with management
• Road test vehicles and provide on-site customer support
