Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician for our Cox Fleet operations. This role performs DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting, with travel and a variable schedule.

The technician will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, service trailers, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. On-site and remote-friendly with safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. Alternative combinations with higher credentials or 5 years’ related experience accepted.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 certification within eighteen months.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance and DOT medical/background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling systems, engines, and transmissions.
• Perform trailer equipment diagnostics and repairs, weld and fabricate as needed.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Manage parts inventory and document work on Repair Orders using TRAIT app.
