Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-mid repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, diesel, and mechanical systems, road test vehicles, and maintain service trucks and paperwork using our TRAIT app.

The role emphasizes independent scheduling, adherence to safety policies, and working with clients to meet maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations; successful DOT background screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card may substitute for a DOT physical if validity exceeds four months.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems as needed.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using appropriate tools.
• Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory and company vehicle readiness.
