Job summary

Cox Fleet in Houston, TX seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will work under supervision and collaborate with senior techs to diagnose and fix light-to-heavy duty vehicles, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, basic hand tools, and DOT requirements; ASE T8 certification is required within 18 months; ASE T4 is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, DOT/FMCSA familiarity preferred.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical compliance may be required.
• ASE T8 certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs in mobile/field settings.
• Execute repairs on electrical, brakes, cooling, engines, transmissions and more.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck and document RO workflows.
• Maintain safety checks, pre/post-trip inspections, and drive the service vehicle.
• Communicate findings and obtain approvals for repairs with management.
