Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems using handheld devices and standard shop tools.

Reporting to a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician, you will build advanced diagnostic skills, manage a service truck inventory, and ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT Inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect, test and diagnose equipment using handheld computers and pressure gauges; road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory on company service truck and document findings on RO via TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms promptly and maintain safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and purchase orders.
