Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a field/mobile setting. You will diagnose digital and mechanical systems across a range of trucks and trailers, maintaining service trucks and documenting work with our TRAIT app.

Qualified candidates will have HS diploma or GED, ASE T8 within 18 months, and DOT/ FMCSA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Must possess hand tools necessary for job.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months; DOT/FMCSA background screening required.
• DOT medical card acceptable or DOT physical required if card validity is ≤4 months.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and be 21+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drive-train systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Maintain inventory and service truck equipment; document work on RO via TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
