Job summary

Advanced Orthopedics Sports Medicine in Freehold, NJ is seeking an AR Billing and Collection Representative I to analyze past due accounts and coordinate with payers and internal teams to recover overdue payments. This on-site role runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with no remote option.

You'll perform duties across posting, AR, denial appeals, patient billing questions, and reporting on litigation and aging accounts, while maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years experience in medical accounts receivable office.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance billing required.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Minimum High School Degree or GED equivalent.
• English.
• Knowledge in: Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and update all assigned AR accounts to ensure timely and appropriate resolution per payers' guidelines.
• Cross-trained across back-office functions including posting, AR (insurance & patient collection), denial appeals, and charge adjustments.
• Answer billing questions from patients, payers, and physicians in a clear and professional manner.
• Monitor Navinet and payer websites for payment status and set follow-up on open balances.
• Prepare monthly updates on litigation accounts and closures.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with privacy laws in handling information.
• Document accounts with current status and strategy to bring claims to closure.
• Compile claims data and track denial trends for actionable insights.
