Job summary

MOHR Talent’s client is seeking an HR Generalist to handle recruiting, hiring, employee relations, and employee separations at a Derby, NY manufacturing site. You will be the local HR resource, working with an off-site management team for guidance and alignment.

As the site’s sole HR Generalist, you’ll lead recruiting, resolve employee relations concerns, manage separations, and maintain HR records and programs while supporting leadership with data and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience as HR Generalist or similar in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of EEOC/ADA/FMLA/FLSA and related employment laws.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with HR leadership.
• Strong communication, organization, discretion, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day HR at the manufacturing site.
• Manage recruiting and hiring activities for the site.
• Address employee relations concerns with effective listening and judgment.
• Handle employee separations in coordination with HR management.
• Partner with off-site HR managers on employee matters and programs.
• Administer and maintain HR programs, records, and confidential information.
• Gather and analyze HR data, prepare reports and presentations, and suggest improvements.
• Balance daily employee needs with projects and deadlines.
