Job summary

Alpha is hiring teachers (guides) to coach students through app-based core learning, diagnose reading gaps, and run targeted literacy sessions. You will stay with the same students all day, lead morning launch, workshops, and check-chart activities to keep six-year-olds moving.

This full-time, on-site role requires 3+ years with children 4-9, 2+ years teaching reading in K-3, and structured-literacy training. Relocation support available; US work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working directly with children ages 4-9: teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar; or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Comfortable spending about 70% of the day guiding students through app-based learning, workshops, and campus routines, and about 30% on targeted reading sessions.
• Willing to work on-site in the US and legally authorized to work without visa sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning: spotting gaps, asking the unblocking questions, and maintaining daily goals.
• Running targeted structured-literacy sessions with two to four students, diagnosing gaps from running records and fluency probes.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Driving students to weekly app goals with school currency and leaderboards.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions, addressing frustration with a plan.
