Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Youth Development Coach to guide K–3 students through app-based learning, diagnose reading gaps, and design targeted sequences. You will work with 2–4 students in compact sessions, tracking progress and closing gaps with data-driven teaching.

The role is full-time and on-site at a campus, with relocation support and a focus on daily goals across the school day from launch to close. You will stay with students through lunch and recess to keep momentum.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in relevant settings.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master’s in reading/literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coach K-3 students through app-based core learning and close reading gaps.
• Lead short literacy sessions with 2–4 students and diagnose gaps.
• Maintain daily routines from launch to closing with the class.
• Drive students toward weekly app goals using gamification and leaderboards.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing to address frustrations.
