Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician in the Florida/Miami area to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role requires strong diagnostics, electrical, and mechanical skills and acts as a lead on jobsites.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years related experience, DOT/compliance knowledge, and own tool set. Company provided tools and a robust benefits package support ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years related field experience (or 3–7 years alternative).
• At least 3 years experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge; ability to pass background check & DOT physical.
• Current DOT medical card or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver's license and 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brakes, cooling, engines, transmissions and more.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, air conditioning, engine, drivetrain and related systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using appropriate instruments.
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work using company systems on an iOS device.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and timely.
