Job summary

Avantor is seeking an experienced Lab Services/Inventory Supervisor in Rio Rancho, NM. The role reports to the site services manager and collaborates with Lab and Production Services to support customers through mission-based lab work and research protocols.

The position requires 2+ years in lab services or logistics and 1+ year of supervisory experience, with strong Excel/LIMS/SAP/Workday skills and Lean Six Sigma familiarity. A high school diploma is required, with higher education preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; higher ed in supply chain, business, or life sciences preferred.
• 2+ years in lab services, warehouse, logistics, or inventory ops.
• 1+ year of formal supervisory experience with direct reports.
• Experience leading operational improvement initiatives.
• Experience in client-embedded services or regulated facilities.
• Proficiency with inventory systems (SAP, Workday, LIMS) including reporting/analytics.
• Excel: pivot tables, lookups, basic data analysis.
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day team management with clear direction and accountability.
• Provide growth opportunities and coaching within the Avantor framework.
• Foster an inspired team culture to improve retention and performance.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and site service guidelines.
• Analyze operational data and communicate findings to non-technical audiences.
• Lead team meetings and participate in customer discussions.
• Drive improvements to meet SLAs, budgets, and KPIs.
• Identify value-added service opportunities and coordinate with vendors.
