Job summary

Avantor is seeking an organized associate to support Lab and Production Services with inventory, shipping, and customer service activities. You will manage consumables and chemicals, process requests, and move inventory on and off site while maintaining metric reporting.

The role requires 2+ years in material handling or related fields, with strong Microsoft Office and SAP familiarity, plus a focus on safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: 2+ years in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service.
• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience.
• Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know a plus.
• Cross-referencing and inside sales experience a plus.
• Knowledge of scientific products and services is a plus.
• Background checks, health and safety compliance as required by company.
• Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel.
• Shipping, inventory, or purchasing experience.
• Excellent customer service with a professional attitude.
• Strong safety, quality, and procedural adherence.
• Self-motivation, time management and deadline discipline.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal contacts.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inventory management tasks and accurate inventory control, processing requests and fulfillment.
• Monitor slow moving and dead inventory; conduct cycle counts and yearly inventories.
• Provide daily customer service and communicate inventory status.
• May perform purchasing tasks including back orders, expediting, and quotes.
• Handle order entry, reporting, and cost savings tracking.
• Coordinate shipping: prepare documentation and package hazardous materials.
• Interface with customer contacts, purchasing directors, and plant managers.
• Utilize SAP, Citrix, Avantor systems for fulfillment and metrics.
• Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist with change management and interdepartmental communications.
