Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced IT Technical Support Technician to join our team in Irvine, CA. This 100% on-site role supports the City of Irvine & Police Department with day-to-day IT operations, ensuring high-level technical assistance and responsive service delivery.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, install and optimize enterprise systems, and train users while maintaining logs and coordinating with engineers. Local candidates comfortable with on-site work are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship or Green Card; must pass City of Irvine Live Scan background check and polygraph.
3 years of experience in technical support or related.
Strong front-line troubleshooting with TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, and DHCP.
Experience supporting Microsoft technologies and enterprise IT environments.
Ability to work 100% on-site in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

Provide expert and second-tier technical support and analysis.
Offer guidance on installation, configuration, and enhancement of systems.
Test, train, and support customers on system aspects and troubleshoot issues.
Maintain logs and advise on software/hardware purchases; basic PC support.
Travel to customer sites; collaborate with developers to reduce incidents.
Answer questions about installation, operation, and usage of designated systems.
