Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager in Spartanburg, SC to lead hyperscale data center construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning. This on-site role requires coordinating between owners, design teams, contractors, and utility providers to deliver on schedule and within budget.

You will manage scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety, driving continuous improvement, collaboration, and strong communication with executive leadership and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of construction project management experience.
• Experience managing all phases of project delivery.
• Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, and cost management.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of hyperscale data center construction projects from concept through completion.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Provide day-to-day construction oversight and leadership across all project phases.
• Coordinate activities among architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, utility providers, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
• Facilitate project meetings, document meeting minutes, track action items, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Analyze project performance and develop reports related to schedule, cost, safety, quality, procurement, and risk management.
• Review contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Lead change management efforts, including evaluation, negotiation, and approval of change orders and claims.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, payment applications, and cost forecasts.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Manage project controls, including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, earned value tracking, and reporting.
• Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure successful startup, testing, and turnover of mission-critical systems.
• Support utility coordination and infrastructure implementation, including electrical transmission, substations, fiber networks, water systems, and site utilities.
• Lead resolution of complex construction, logistical, and operational challenges within active project environments.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project teams.
