Job summary

Alpha seeks a full-time homeroom teacher (Guides) to support K-3 reading development using app-based core learning. You will diagnose gaps, design short sequences, and monitor progress with weekly data shared with families.

You will stay with your cohort from launch to close, lead literacy blocks, and support classroom routines while employing a diagnostics-first approach to close reading gaps.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children aged 4–9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of reading instruction in grades K–3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, etc.) or a master’s in reading.
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning; spotting gaps and unblocking progress.
• Running short literacy sessions with 2–4 students; diagnosing gaps from running records.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Driving weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing with a plan for each child.
