Job summary

FastMed is seeking an IT Support Technician in Durham, NC to be the first point of contact for incidents and user requests. On-site availability in the Durham area is required, with after-hours on-call rotations and occasional travel.

The role covers troubleshooting, account management, and asset handling, with a focus on customer service and maintaining HIPAA-compliant practices across AvanceCare and FastMed locations.

Qualifications

• Experience providing IT support to staff in a professional environment.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and cybersecurity best practices.
• Proficiency with Active Directory and basic networking.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to AvanceCare and FastMed personnel.
• Triage, resolve or escalate help desk tickets per documented processes.
• Image, configure and set up new laptops and desktops.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and track hardware/software.
• Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers and basic network issues.
• Create user accounts in Active Directory, Exchange and other systems.
• Travel to multiple locations for troubleshooting as needed.
