Job summary

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals is seeking an IT Support Specialist for our Frontier Durham office. This 100% on-site role provides Tier 1 support, handling walk-up help, deskside tasks, and leadership support in a fast-paced office.

The candidate will troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and conferencing systems, while onboarding/offboarding staff and maintaining asset inventory. This is a 6-month contract requiring five days on-site weekly.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
2+ years of Tier 1 deskside or service desk support in a corporate setting.
Strong customer service mindset with clear communication and in-person support.
Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Teams and Outlook.
Experience with conference room / audiovisual tech (Teams Rooms, displays, cameras).

Responsibilities

Provide on-site Tier 1 IT support for BioCryst employees at the Frontier Durham office.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, printers, and conference room tech.
Deliver white-glove support for leadership, visitors, and executives on-site.
Assist with onboarding/offboarding, workstation setup, and asset tracking.
Document incidents and requests in the ITSM system and maintain timely updates.
Follow IT processes, SLAs, and security practices; coordinate with other teams.
