Job summary

Volunteers of America (VOALA) invites a Teacher Substitute to support Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms in South LA/South Bay. The role focuses on providing a developmentally appropriate environment with activities fostering social, emotional, cognitive growth and family engagement.

On-site position with fingerprint clearance requirements; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; pay range $21.57–$22.70 per hour listed.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background check required.
• Automobile access and valid CA driver’s license for travel between sites.
• TB clearance within 6 months prior to hire.
• Pertussis and measles immunization.
• Health screening at time of employment.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and move quickly in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the program curriculum for morning and afternoon classes.
• Provide varied activities to support social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
• Integrate Head Start services such as parent involvement, nutrition, health, and mental health.

12 units of ECE/ Child development
