Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is seeking a Head Start Co-Teacher Substitute to support early childhood development in San Fernando Valley. The role focuses on creating a nurturing environment and delivering developmentally appropriate activities for young children.

Key duties include planning daily activities, observing child development, and collaborating with the teaching team to ensure a high-quality learning experience for all children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance required for travel to different sites.
• TB clearance and required vaccinations are part of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move quickly in a busy classroom.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Start/ Early Head Start classroom activities.
• Plan and implement daily activities for morning and afternoon sessions.
• Observe and assess children's developmental levels and communicate goals.
• Support parents as primary educators and create inclusive learning environments.
