Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Head Start Teacher Substitute to support classrooms in the San Fernando Valley/Santa Clarita area. The role provides a safe, engaging environment and assists with lesson planning for children aged 0-5 as needed.

Qualified applicants will undergo fingerprint clearance and health screenings. Prior ECE coursework (12 units) and Associate Teacher Permit are preferred. The position is on-site and requires flexibility across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background checks required.
• TB clearance within 6 months prior to employment.
• Pertussis and measles immunizations required.
• Health screening at time of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move quickly in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a developmentally appropriate environment with varied activities.
• Plan and implement curriculum for double sessions (morning and afternoon).
• Collaborate with Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to support families.
• Integrate Head Start services like parent involvement, nutrition, health, and mental health.
