Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is hiring a Head Start Teacher to provide an engaging early learning environment for children ages 0–5 in Los Angeles County Head Start programs. You will plan and implement curriculum, collaborate with a Co-Teacher and Family Advocate, and support family involvement to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field.
• 24 ECE/Child Development units.
• Must meet requirements to obtain Child Development Teacher Permit.

Responsibilities

• Implements the program curriculum for children enrolled in morning and afternoon classes (double sessions).
• Plan individual and group activities to stimulate learning and promote parent involvement.
• Work cooperatively with Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to provide information and resources to enrolled families.
• Provide a learning environment that reflects the varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds of the children.
• Conducts daily classroom planning and maintains children’s records with the FA.
