Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic B to perform preventive maintenance and on-site repairs for our fleet at customer job sites in Memphis, TN. You will diagnose issues, service hydraulic and electrical systems, and educate customers to prevent future breakdowns. A valid driver's license and on-call availability are required.

The role emphasizes safety, thorough reporting, and building strong customer relationships while working independently at times.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and understand technical schematics and manuals.
• Must own hand tools; operate equipment safely and effectively.
• On-call availability to support operations.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at customer job sites.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery work as needed.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to maintain operability.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Replace parts and educate customers on proper use.
• Prepare detailed service reports and logs.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas on-site.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company procedures.
• Build positive relationships with customers.
